Shipping company with a worldwide reach and over 35 years in the industry is seeking an experienced Sales Executive to join their team in Basildon.
The Sales Executive will be responsible for daily operations related to pricing, quoting, and communication for Import and Export LCL shipments. This role involves liaising with clients, origin offices, agents, and vendors to ensure smooth operations and achieve customer satisfaction.
The Sales Executive will also follow up on quotes, manage load plans, and contribute to the sales pipeline through proactive outreach.
It is essential that you have experience in selling within this field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing & Quoting: Prepare and provide accurate LCL quotes for import and export shipments. Follow up on quotes for shipments over 5cbm via phone and under 5cbm via email within 24 hours of quoting.
- Load Plan Management: Review daily load plans to identify containers scheduled to load within 48-72 hours and document destinations. Identify containers requiring CBM (cubic meter) estimates and follow up with clients to confirm readiness for shipment.
- Client Communication: Communicate directly with clients, vendors, and origin offices to clarify shipment details, provide updates, and gather necessary information to ensure successful bookings.
- Booking Confirmation: Ensure secured bookings are accurately communicated to the customer service team with all necessary documentation.
- Account Qualification: Contact and qualify new accounts (“New Log In”) to assess potential business opportunities and determine account suitability.
- Collaboration with Field Sales: Support the field sales team by providing direct leads and assisting with client visits as required.
- Customer Service: Answer incoming calls from clients and vendors, promptly return missed calls or voicemails, and assist with inquiries and issue resolution.
The role of Shunter Driver in Totton is full-time (40 hours, 16:30-01:00), with a salary of £36,000-£39,000, and is permanent. Applicants must have a full UK HGV (Class 1) license, valid CPC, and TACHO cards.
