About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Conference Sales Consultant to join our Conferences and Venues Sales Team. If you are a passionate conference and events professional looking for the next step in your career – this could be the job for you!

Responsibilities

As our Conference Sales Consultant, you will join a highly supportive team who receive, handle and convert meeting, conference, wedding and event enquiries. You will be responsible for securing business across an extensive portfolio which includes dedicated year‑round conference centres, cultural venues and large‑scale campus facilities.

  • Responding to enquiries from a wide range of clients, including academic and internal colleagues, training organisations, corporates, agencies and associations
  • Understanding and discussing client requirements and preparing detailed proposals and quotes
  • Arranging and conducting site visits, showcasing our venues.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate sales tracking information
  • Upselling the University’s facilities and services

Qualifications

  • A qualification in a hospitality related subject, or professional qualifications combined with demonstratable professional skill and/or knowledge gained through relevant industry experience
  • Experience in a diverse environment providing conference or sales services on a similar scope and scale
  • Evidence of readily accepting individual accountability and effective use of initiative
  • Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.
