The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

The post holder will be expected to manage a timely, safe, efficient, and cost-effective estates operational and maintenance service. Responsible to the Deputy Head of Estates with line management responsibility for all operational Electrical, trade, specialist technicians, charge hands, and supervisors, working within the Estates Department.

The post holder will act as a specialist on behalf of the Trust for all aspects of Engineering & Building Services and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of the engineering infrastructure, systems, and equipment. It will be expected of the post holder to develop positive working relationships with all other Facilities and Estates Managers, Divisional Departments, Senior Management in both Clinical and Non-Clinical areas, and to participate as a member of the Projects Team for all issues relating to operational and maintenance concerns.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing engineering (Electrical) services for the Trust.
  2. Facilitating a quality Estates service responsive to the Trust\’s operational needs.
  3. Providing detailed professional and technical estates advice.
  4. Ensuring compliance with all statutory standards, codes of practice, health and safety guidance, health technical memoranda, COSHH, building regulations, and NHS directives relating to Estates services.
  5. Overseeing that engineering maintenance, including contract work, meets appropriate standards and specifications.
  6. Maintaining specialist services and equipment used in patient care in accordance with statutory standards.
  7. Monitoring and reviewing the mechanical and electrical engineering service\’s planned preventative maintenance system (PPM) and ensuring statutory and mandatory compliance (SPM).
  8. Acting as the Authorised Person (AP) for High Voltage and Low Voltage Systems.
  9. Implementing and maintaining the site asset register; overseeing minor schemes and capital works.
  10. Monitoring performance and conducting reviews.
  11. Carrying out disciplinary actions as necessary.
  12. Maintaining and updating divisional policies and procedures.
  13. Participating in the emergency on-call roster and assisting operational staff with out-of-hour duties.
  14. Providing cover for colleagues as appropriate.
  15. Assisting in producing ad hoc reports and project work.
