Part of Xodus Group, Evolv Energies is at the forefront of major international projects where we bring a unique, integrated perspective and specialist engineering expertise to support offshore developers, investors and the wider construction and installation supply chain through Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design and across Construction and Installation activities, predominately in relation to offshore wind, interconnectors and energy transition projects.
Role: The Contracts Manager will be a key and integral member of the Management Team and participate in contractual and commercial discussion, decisions and negotiations with Clients and support any subsequent internal approvals. They will be accountable for the provision of commercial and contracts expertise in relation to project and tender activities across Evolv Energies. Furthermore, our Contracts Manager will represent Evolv Energies at Client and stakeholder meetings as required.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities include:
Win:
- Perform contract reviews for tendering in accordance with applicable process and procedures for contract reviews outlined in Group Legal and Contract Management Procedures.
- Attend Tender Review and Bid Meetings as the Contract Management focal point.
- Participate with other Stakeholders as required to jointly carry out a holistic review of the complete draft contract and bid documents to ensure consistency throughout. Be prepared to challenge and be challenged.
- Ensure Lessons learned are identified and are adequately addressed in Tender reviews.
- Attend meetings with prospective clients to arrive at acceptable Contract and commercial conditions.
- Provide feedback to tendering teams on any issues encountered on active projects.
Execute:
- Oversee and drive the day-to-day management and administration of contractual obligations ensuring alignment with the wider strategic contracts and commercial objectives.
- Ensure effective monitoring collaboratively with Project Managers of key Client deliverables.
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities and work with applicable stakeholders to address as required.
- Ensure that there is an active management of change process and that all commercial opportunities are identified and pursued including the preservation and recovery of cash.
- Advise on subcontracting conditions and deviations, approve deviations in accordance with the appropriate procedure, support Main Contract flow downs as well as carry out reviews when prepared by others.
- Ensure completion of correct Contractual Close out of the projects.
Role Requirements include:
- A hands-on approach, with a can do attitude and willingness work with a team at all levels.
- Degree qualified in a role relevant subject, e.g Law, Quantity Surveying, Business Management.
- Membership / affiliation with role relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role within the energy industry, ideally within an engineering and construction services environment.
- Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
- Ability to place contractual risks in their true practical and commercial perspective.
- Effective planning skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and competing deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, builds positive collaborative relationships.
- Responds positively to change and identifies improvements in process, cost and efficiency.
- Have an interest to actively develop external and internal relationships and be prepared take part in industry working groups and other professional bodies.
