We are seeking an exceptional Caretaker / Site Manager to join our clients friendly and dedicated team.

You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and vibrant environment where children can thrive and staff can do their best work. From day-to-day maintenance to bigger improvement projects, this is a role where your skills will be valued, and where no two days are ever the same.

This is a full-time position of 32 hours per week, but they are open to discussing flexible working patterns with the right candidate.

What You\’ll Be Doing

  • Act as a key holder, including responding to out-of-hours alarms

  • Open and secure the school buildings daily, no evening lettings required

  • Take the lead in planning and managing maintenance and cleaning schedules

  • Oversee the cleaning team and manage supplies and equipment

  • Monitor heating, water systems, and safety compliance in partnership with leadership

  • Carry out day-to-day repairs, such as plumbing, decorating, and minor works

  • Support small building projects and oversee external contractors

  • Keep the school site safe, functional, and well-presented throughout the year

  • Hands-on experience in building / site maintenance or facilities management

  • Great practical skills and confidence to carry out minor repairs

  • Organised, dependable, and able to manage your own workload

  • Health & safety knowledge and a proactive, can-do attitude

  • Strong communication skills across the school community

  • Experience in a school or similar environment

  • Basic trade qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for creating a safe and inspiring space for children to learn
