Job Description
- Lead small to medium-sized structural projects independently, from concept to detailed design.
- Undertake structural design of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber using UK Standards and Eurocodes.
- Use structural analysis and modelling software such as Tekla Structural Designer or equivalent.
- Produce and review structural condition surveys and technical reports within tight deadlines.
- Respond to RFIs and TQs during the construction phase, review fabricator designs, and carry out site visits.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align structural solutions with client and project requirements.
- Specify construction information using tools like NBS.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to team development.
- Ensure compliance with designer duties under CDM Regulations.
- Define and develop client briefs and manage budget considerations, aligned with RIBA stages.
Essential Qualifications & Skills for Senior Structural Engineer
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent), with substantial post-qualification experience.
- Chartered status with ICE or IStructE, or actively working towards it.
- Strong command of design software, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, TEDDS), and detailing tools (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Familiarity with RIBA stages and budgetary controls.
- Clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence.
