Vickerstock are proud to be partnering with Belfast City Council to recruit an Environmental Health Officer We are delighted to be recruiting for the role of Environmental Health Officer within the City and Neighbourhood Services Department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving the health and quality of life for residents across Belfast. Key Responsibilities: Enforce, investigate, educate, and advise on environmental health matters across the city. Contribute to the achievement of service objectives and unit business plans. Liaise with public, private, voluntary, and community organisations to enhance service delivery. Conduct audits, provide reports, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding protocols. Take part in project work, recruitment, and training programs as required. Participate in out-of-hours services, including night-time noise monitoring. Essential Criteria: Hold a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or equivalent. Possess EHORB registration or be a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner (or commit to achieving this within 18 months). A full, current driving license valid in Northern Ireland and access to transport to meet job requirements. Skills and Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with the public and business owners effectively. Excellent technical knowledge of environmental health issues. Proven ability to prioritise workloads and work both independently and as part of a team. Decision-making skills with an incisive and practical approach. Strong IT literacy, including the use of specialised and standard office software.
