Job Description

Job Title: Trainee Water Hygiene Engineer

Location: London & surrounding Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 plus company van, fuel card, phone, full training, pension, uniform/PPE, pension and 25 days excluding statutory days.

About Us:We are a leading provider of water treatment and hygiene services, supporting clients in keeping their water systems safe, clean, and compliant. As our business grows, we are seeking a motivated Trainee Water Hygiene Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with plumbing qualifications or experience looking to start a career in the water hygiene industry.

Role Overview:As a Trainee Water Hygiene Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to learn all aspects of water hygiene and compliance. Full training and mentoring will be provided, enabling you to build skills in monitoring, testing, and treating water systems, including closed systems.

Key Responsibilities (with training and support):

  • Assist in routine monitoring, sampling, and testing of water systems.
  • Learn how to carry out temperature monitoring and inspections of hot and cold-water systems.
  • Support cleaning, disinfection, and chlorination of water systems, including tanks and cooling towers.
  • Receive training in Closed System Analysis, including sampling, testing, and dosing of closed heating and chilled water systems.
  • Support remedial works and basic plumbing-related tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and company procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Plumbing qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) or relevant experience preferred.
  • Interest in developing a career in the water hygiene/water treatment sector.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (2 years minimum driving).
  • Able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
