Our client is an energy infrastructure developer and asset owner, part of a major European energy group. The company is actively developing large-scale Heat Networks and managing significant energy infrastructure assets across the UK.
They are currently looking to recruit a Finance Director to lead the UK finance function, reporting directly to theFinance CEO. The ideal candidate will have experience in asset-heavy energy infrastructure and exposure to private equity environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with strategic objectives, working closely with growth, development, and operations teams.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support key decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, revenue enhancement, and capital efficiency, with a focus on investment returns.
- Enhance financial and KPI reporting to deliver actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Oversee preparation of annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Lead accurate and timely monthly management reporting and forecasting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the parent company, regulators, and auditors.
- Act as the main point of contact for UK-related financial matters.
- Ensure compliance with all financial, tax, VAT, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures aligned with group standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
- Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, UK accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Track record in financial planning, analysis, and performance optimisation.
- Experience in treasury, capital markets, or project finance is highly advantageous.
- Background in energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive sectors is essential.
