Weapons & Explosives Safety Engineer (Sometimes known as a WOME safety engineer or land safety engineers)
£55k – £85k salary
Can be based anywhere in UK – Travel to site on the odd occasion max once a month
Your Purpose
You will be eager to expand your knowledge and experience and be someone who thrives in an innovative and supportive environment. Your role will involve the delivering the following for WOME Systems:
- Understanding and interpretation of safety and engineering risks.
- Problem Solving.
- Innovation.
- Analysis and presentation of coherent outputs.
What You Can Bring
For you to successfully deliver as a Safety Consultant we require the following:
- Working knowledge of safety regulations including Defence Safety Authority suite.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation (UK and EU in particular) and its application to land systems.
- Working knowledge of safety standards such as Defence Standard 00-056.
- Proven record of managing safety and safety artefacts including safety management plans, hazard logs and safety case reports at platform or at system level.
- Experience in interrogation of data systems to assess currency, integrity, and associated risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation and presentation of reports to both internal and external customers.
- Knowledge and awareness of Defence safety disciplines (Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives for example).
- Professionally registered at IEng or working towards it.
