RLE International are looking for a BIW Engineer to support their client for an exciting new project based in Oxfordshire on a 6 month contract: Rate: £34per hour (Outside IR35) Job Description & Responsibilities: DFMEA activities including: * System DFMEA based on CO content from Beta designs that are introduced * Component DFMEA with DV activities captured * Control cascades to process and quality * Quality database and review of prevention and control measures * Rescore DFMEA and action plan for high AP scores Components delivery end to end ownership to deliver a suitable product for production including: * Component design and requirement validation activities * DFM / DFA related activities with suppliers or internal stakeholders * Component assembly * Servicing and repairs strategy – support aftermarket * Ownership of issues related to component that are found during build or test * Change management and reporting * Component integration and interface control to systems * Cost, mass and timing in line with the programme targets and requirements * Engineering sign off documentation – requirement satisfaction, evidence gathering * Drawing checks to identify SC / CC are applied correctly and any drawing change recommendations Components DV activities support including: * Support DV team with SoW / TSoW based on the test requirements * Support DV team with test specification and sourcing * Interpret DV test results and reporting to technical forums * Archive test cases and link to DFMEA update as required * Support DV tests at test houses with test team – as required * Reporting on status vs target * Build support through the Beta maturation including: * Components MRD and inspection * Components pre fitment and ok to issue to build sign off * Logging of issues in assembly and concerns * Owning of issues resolution and implementation * Reporting on status vs target You must have: A good technical understanding and knowledge of structural components within a power system and able to demonstrate an end-to-end component ownership and delivery from initial requirements. Has a good understanding and ability to use: Teamcenter, Jira, MS Office, SharePoint, Polarion Has experience with and has conducted product DFMEA activities previously Strong experience in applying Systems Engineering methodology Can run autonomously with tasks and report on status or issues in completing them Additional Information: Role is based in Oxfordshire and attendance at both technical and operations sites are a minimum 3 days per week and should be within a maximum 1 hour commute. Occasional travel and support DV activities at test houses as and when requested. Travel costs to be covered.
