Job Description
Exciting opportunity for a Front End Engineer to join a Leading Commodities Trading Company.
This is an exciting time to be joining this world-leading company as they transform themselves from a traditional Oil & Gas company into a leading name within the Renewables sector. This includes the creation of an already highly successful new Power Trading desk within the Energy Trading team as well as new ventures into various innovative solutions around the supply of Renewables including wind farms, electric vehicle charging, solar panel heating and battery storage. These innovative solutions provide opportunities for exceptionally highly talented individuals to contribute to the success of this transition where you will be working with some of the best people in the industry working on new and ground-breaking initiatives utilising the very latest technology.
Requirements:
• Extensive experience with modern JavaScript code, including testing, debugging, and automation techniques.
• Experience building user-friendly, data-rich JavaScript/HTML/CSS applications.
• Proven understanding of micro frontend architectures, particularly vertical splits, and experience working within a monorepo.
• Familiarity with, and ideally contributions to, design systems within an organization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience deploying production applications (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• A strong advocate for the benefits of CI/CD in modern development workflows.
• Deep care for application performance, accessibility, and robust API design.
• A solid background in Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture.
What you’ll do
• Develop and enhance user interfaces using modern tools such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, Next.js, SQL, CSS, CSS-in-JS, Playwright, and Vitest.
• Deliver high-quality, well-tested code that adheres to platform standards and best practices.
• Actively utilize and contribute to our organizational design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across applications.
• Collaborate effectively with other teams and individuals within the monorepo environment to plan, coordinate, and seek feedback, ensuring alignment across the micro frontends.
• Pitch in where needed as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team, contributing to all stages of the product development lifecycle.
