Job Description

Civils construction contractor requires a Cost Clerk / Cost Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis, based in Essex. Hours are 07:00 – 16:00 or 08:00 – 17:00, Monday – Friday. Hybrid work is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the close out of costs for construction projects, ensuring anything outstanding is dealt with promptly
  • Liaise with Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers on site, as well as internal and external supply chain, regarding all cost matters
  • Take part in commercial meetings
  • Process Goods Received Notes (GRN) from site
  • Work with suppliers and site teams regarding delivery of plant and materials to allow for payment
  • Work with those responsible for purchasing plant and materials to deal with any order queries
  • Cross reference with purchase ledger team in order to match invoices with GRN
  • Verify payments, GRNs and invoices to finalise accounts
  • Process any site returns
  • Ensure the timely resolution of any invoice queries
  • Assist commercial team by providing information on project costs during preparation of final accounts
  • Attend sites to ensure they are up-to-date on project costs and keeping within budget

Requirements:

  • Full driving licence
  • Previous experience as a Cost Clerk or Cost Administrator in the construction or engineering sectors
