Who we are looking for
A Regulatory Data Team Leader, who will lead a cross-functional team in the delivery of regulatory reporting software solutions.
You will be responsible for the team’s delivery of high-quality working software that meets the needs of the Business.
International regulators require the Business to write software and reporting systems to communicate jurisdiction specific information to them. The architecture of the systems used within the department include high throughput database centric distributed applications, batch reporting, SOAP and REST API integration, Windows, web services, web applications and more. Given the importance of the system payloads, these applications are built to high quality standards, must be tuned for performance and be extremely reliable. These applications must operate within extremely low tolerances of error.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working policy.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Experience of leading a geographically distributed team by holding regular one-to-one’s and supporting the team in producing and tracking personal development plans.
- Highly organised and adaptable, whilst being adept at prioritisation, delivery and driving efficiency in a high throughput and fast-paced environment.
- Maintains a positive outlook whilst adapting to rapidly changing requirements.
- Experience of driving collaboration across key stakeholders to ensure requirements are clarified, solution designs are produced and implemented within the required timeframes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to work effectively.
- Experience of design and implementation of software solutions within a cloud architecture is highly desirable.
- Experience of working within a regulatory or commercial gambling environment is desirable.
- Commercial database development experience coupled with optimisation skills, using SQL Server 2014, or later and T-SQL, or BigQuery and GoogleSQL.
- Experience in database design and software architecture.
- Strong experience of real time reporting and or large-scale database centric distributed systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing team performance, including one-to-one’s whilst mentoring and coaching the team and supporting individual’s career development and aspirations.
- Ensuring governance is in place so that the team’s output meets regulatory reporting requirements, whilst adhering to best architectural and technical design practices ensuring code is simple, robust and performant.
- Owning the delivery of reporting solutions to meet regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with Finance and Compliance departments and other stakeholders as necessary to prioritise delivery of work that will enable the work to be triaged, assigned and tracked.
- Managing risks and issues and proactively managing dependencies on external teams through to completion.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to working practices, processes and deliverables to support the efficient delivery of high-quality software.
- Encouraging a collaborative, respectful and supportive spirit so that team members earn and reciprocate trust, value and cohesion.
- Providing management with status updates of team deliveries and activities and escalate issues that risk the timely delivery of project milestones.
- Adopting, implementing and driving forward agreed agile delivery practices within the team.
- Gaining an understanding of the existing regulatory reporting systems, both the regulatory requirements and the interpretations which have been implemented.
