Job Description
About the Role:
Serve as the functional subject matter expert and peer leader for the assigned area, ensuring operational excellence in safety, service, quality, and cost.
Provide hands-on support to teams, driving performance to exceed expectations and contribute to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Lead by example within the assigned functional area, offering guidance and support to peers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth production operations.
- Actively support production activities, stepping in during shifts or breaks to maintain workflow and operational continuity.
- Collaborate with plant administration to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, promoting consistency and operational compliance.
- Assist Plant leadership in enforcing policies and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure operational efficiency.
- Act as the subject matter expert for specialized areas, such as forklift operations, pallet sorting, or repair lines, providing expertise and ensuring best practices are followed.
- Fulfil assigned production duties, ensuring quality and efficiency in line with plant performance goals.
The primary purpose of the role is to deputies for and support the Site Lead and promote continuous improvement in production, safety and quality metrics and provide leadership to operations teams on site. Build and maintain good relations with 3rd party management teams
- Supervise, develop, and coach employees to build and maintain good relationships with third party management teams.
- Continuous improvement via systemic change based on data and root cause (i.e. Data analysis and improvement / correction plans)
- Ownership and control of all quality related issues on their site/shift.
- Drive a zero-harm culture within the site/shift.
- Conduct tours in the 1-CHEP Management Observation Tool (MOT)
- Lead root cause analysis of all incidents that happen on shift.
- Recognise change as necessary and willingly share knowledge across business areas.
- Adapt and learn in new situations.
- Control Yard and Warehouse movements delegating relevant tasks to FLT drivers bearing in mind warehouse needs.
- Hold daily shift briefs and report plant KPIs.
- Monitor and ensure consistent, timely responses to all relating to zero harm and production KPI.
- Owning the controls on safety, quality, production.
- Assist in monitoring of employee’s holidays in compliance with the holiday policy booking system.

- Deputise for the Site Lead in their absence.
