Job Description
IT Field Engineer – (Mid/Long-Term Contract)We are looking for IT Field Engineers across various locations to support an ongoing nationwide project for a well-known high-street chain. This is a mid to long-term contract running from now to the end of November, with strong potential for further contract opportunities if desired.Role Overview:
As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support across multiple retail locations in your designated region. You will be carrying out hands-on IT hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including:Site surveys to assess IT infrastructureInstallation, configuration, and replacement of payment devices (PEDs)Counter refreshes and hardware upgrades for POS (Point-of-Sale) systemsBasic network troubleshooting and connectivity checksGeneral IT support for in-store technologyThis is a Monday to Friday role, with standard working hours.What’s Included?Pay: £100 per dayCompany van (includes fully expensed fuel card)Company phone, tablet, and full toolset providedFull remote training (one week at a reduced rate of £75 per day)Buddy system for your first few shifts at full payOpportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in IT hardware engineeringRequirements:Some experience in IT hardware engineering, field services, or technical support knowledge is a must (full, Role Specific training provided, but a demonstrable IT background is essential)Excellent Customer service attributes and exemplary communication skillsBasic understanding of IT hardware, including desktops, peripherals, networking, and POS systemsFull, manual UK driving licence (essential)Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approachAvailability to start ASAP
Whilst much of the required work will be within your alloted region, there may be a requirement to travel further afield and spend some nights away on an as needed basis.
