Approved Electrician Southern Scotland (Site-Based)£28.00/hour (CIS or PAYE only)Van, fuel card, PPE & test equipment providedFull-time – 37 hours/weekInitial 3-month contract, potential extension until Dec 2026Travel direct to industrial sites from Motherwell baseRole OverviewSeeking an experienced Approved Electrician to carry out inspection, testing, and remedial works across a range of industrial environments — including quarries and concrete facilities. The role involves direct site work across Southern Scotland, with minimal office time.Key Duties for Approved Electrician
  • Perform electrical inspection, testing, fault-finding, and repairs
  • Navigate active operational sites and work independently or within small teams
  • Interpret site plans, scopes of work, and ensure certification and compliance
  • Maintain rigorous health & safety standards

Requirements for Approved Electrician

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
  • 18th Edition (BS7671)
  • AM2 plus full apprenticeship or equivalent field experience
  • Valid ECS card (mandatory)
  • MP Connect card (beneficial)
  • Proven industrial site experience (e.g. quarries, batching plants, etc.)
  • Strong technical knowledge in commercial/industrial environments
  • Flexibility around working hours, with occasional evenings, weekends, or overnight stays (accommodation provided)
