Job Description
We are working with an excellent company based in North Manchester who are looking to bring a Quantity Surveyor into their team. You will be responsible for the management of the financial side of the fit out and design projects. Making sure you effectively control the costs, budgets and financial processes from start to finish. The role will be office work, site visits and collaboration with designers, contractors and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management:
- Work out costs for materials, labour and other expenses.
- Keep track of project budgets and spending
- Help find cost-saving opportunities without interfering with the quality or design
Site Involvement:
- Visit sites regularly to check work progress and make sure spending matches the plan
- Help site managers and subcontractors sort out payments and budgets
- Attend progress meetings to report financial updates
Variations & Changes:
- Spot and price up and changes to the original plans
- Make sure changes are properly recorded and agreed upon
- Advise on how changes will impact the project financially
Contracts:
- Draft and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Make sure all contract terms are followed and disputes are avoided
- Finalize accounts once the project is in completion
Procurement:
- Source the right suppliers/subcontractors at the best prices
- Manage tender packages, assess quotes and negotiate deals
- Make sure everything is delivered on time and within budget
Financial Reporting:
- Provide regular financial updates and cash flow forecasts
- Management of payments, invoices and cost reviews each month
Team & Designer Collaboration:
- Work with designers to ensure ideas are within budget
- Support project managers and help maintain excellent client relationships
- Act as the go-between for design, delivery and the clien
Ideal Background:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar
- 3 years minimum experience as a QS – Ideally in fit out / interiors
- Good knowledge of fit-out processes, contracts and procurement
- Experience in dealing with site-based financial tasks and cost saving solutions
Package:
- £50-55k
