About the Role:
As our Laboratory Administrator, you’ll be the backbone of our lab’s daily operations—managing sample bookings, coordinating external testing, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is central to ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Book and manage testing samples for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods
- Coordinate external testing with third-party laboratories and track results
- Raise and manage purchase orders related to external testing
- Maintain retain samples, handle sample requests, and manage discard protocols
- Respond to resample testing needs in collaboration with QC and Lab teams
- Monitor, analyse, and report on lab administrative KPIs
- Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support continuous improvement and lean lab practices
- Initiate and document corrective actions when needed
- Promote and maintain high health and safety standards in the lab
- Assist with lab maintenance requests and follow-up activities
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Strong organisational, record-keeping, and communication skills
- Sound analytical and basic problem-solving abilities
- Confident using Microsoft Office and lab administration systems
- A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks reliably
Desirable :
- Previous experience in a laboratory, quality, or manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing workflows, and sample lifecycle management
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations within lab environments
