Job Description
Quantity Surveyor
£45-50k, car/allowance

We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and forward-thinking commercial team, working on a long-term framework contract. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a range of critical infrastructure schemes designed to enhance connectivity across the North of England.

You will report directly to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, and will take on a key role in driving value, managing costs, and maintaining commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial ownership of designated work packages from inception to final account
- Carry out cost-value reconciliations and detailed financial reporting
- Oversee subcontractor management, including procurement, valuations, and final accounts
- Ensure compliance with NEC contracts, identifying and managing early warnings, compensation events, and change control
- Support the wider commercial team in cost planning, forecasting, and risk management
- Foster close working relationships with project delivery teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive collaborative outcomes
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within highways, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects
- A solid understanding of NEC suite of contracts, particularly Option A and C
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple commercial responsibilities concurrently
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence to manage your workload independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across project teams
