Principal Photolithography Engineer – InP Photonics
Onsite | Ipswich, UK
A leading high-tech R&D center is seeking a Principal Engineer specializing in photolithography for Indium Phosphide (InP) photonics. This onsite role is instrumental in developing high-precision fabrication processes for next-generation telecom, data center, and sensing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize photolithography processes for InP photonic devices.
- Oversee tool setup, calibration, and cleanroom operations.
- Convert photonic designs into high-fidelity, manufacturable patterns.
- Maintain process control and resolve lithography-related issues.
- Explore new materials, resists, and patterning techniques.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices in microfabrication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process integration.
- Lead R&D projects aligned with long-term technical goals
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering).
- Extensive experience in photolithography for compound semiconductors or photonics.
- Strong skills in mask design, resist technologies, and cleanroom tools (steppers, aligners, spin coaters).
- Proficient with SEM, AFM, profilometers, and related metrology.
- Solid understanding of photonic device design and manufacturing.
- Skilled in data analysis and process control.
- Strong leadership and collaboration abilities.
- Up-to-date with industry standards and emerging photolithography technologies.
