Job Description
The Power System Technician will provide technical engineering services with minimal supervision, including mechanical and electrical servicing, repairs, maintenance, supervision, and installation.
Location:
This role is based in North East England.

The role
Reporting directly to the team manager, the Power Systems Technician will be part of a multi-skilled team covering the North East England service area. While working as part of a team, you will contribute individually to daily operational duties. Some travel outside the normal area may be required in exceptional circumstances.
- Respond to faults promptly and complete corrective maintenance to meet Customer Service Level Agreements.
- Carry out preventative maintenance following Arqiva standards, policies, and procedures.
- Support upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting.
- Work flexibly, independently and as part of a team.
- Ensure equipment operates to specified performance criteria and standards.
- Engage with customers and build positive relationships.
- Supervise contractors and monitor workmanship to meet standards.
- Participate in 24/7 callout response as scheduled.
- Work safely, complying with Health & Safety legislation and Arqiva policies.
- Willing to learn new transmission skills, with potential training to climb for career progression.
- Lone working in remote locations included.
Qualifications:
- Valid driving license
- Time served electrician (NVQ 3 & AM2)
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Regulations
- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Test, or 2394 & 2395 for Verification & inspection testing
Required Expertise:
- Minimum 5 years experience in electrical maintenance
- Minimum 2 years experience conducting EICRs
- Fault finding and diagnosis skills
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
- Knowledge of BS7671 requirements
- Experience with three-phase equipment and systems
