Workshop ElectricianLocation: East GrinsteadType: Full-Time, PermanentSalary: £35,000 – £37,500

Role Overview

This is a depot-based role for a qualified Electrician with experience in the preparation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and accessories. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proactive approach to workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test single and three-phase electrical equipment, including distribution panels, AMF panels, and transformers
  • Assemble and test electrical cables and accessories, including Powerlock, lugged, and Ceeform connectors
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical equipment to operational and safety standards
  • Source and manage spare parts and maintain workshop stock
  • Support general depot tasks including loading/unloading and off-hiring equipment
  • Communicate with the operations team regarding equipment availability and shortfalls
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in workshop procedures and safety practices

Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC)
  • OR completed an approved apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • OR proven hands-on experience in servicing and repairing electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of control systems or load bank testing is desirable (training provided if needed)
  • CSCS card preferred (training can be arranged)
  • Full UK driving licence
