About the role
The Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer will work within the Subsea and Pipelines team to lead the execution and delivery of the subsea pipelines, risers and tie in spools projects with a focus on subsea decommissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing quality deliverables as part of project execution
- Conduct detailed engineering assessments and feasibility studies for the safe decommissioning of subsea pipelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and review decommissioning strategies, procedures, and work scopes, including pipeline cleaning, flushing, cutting, and removal operations.
- Perform structural and integrity analyses of subsea pipelines to determine decommissioning risks and mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including marine operations, environmental specialists, and project managers, to deliver integrated decommissioning solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and decommissioning reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Provide engineering support during offshore decommissioning operations, including troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges in real-time.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and methodologies for pipeline decommissioning, considering cost, safety, and environmental impact.
- Monitor and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution of decommissioning activities. .
Skills Required (Background, experience and qualifications):
Essential:
- Broad experience of decommissioning projects and knowledge of regulations
- Minimum – first Degree or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline and CEng &/or PEng.
- Check isometrics, general arrangement, field layout, alignment sheets & approach drawings.
- Detailed understanding of design standards including PD8010-2 and DNV-ST-F101.
- Detailed understanding on the theory and application of industry recommended practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Full command of English language.
- Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS office software.
Preferred:
- Experience with working on Study projects & contributing to FEEDs, Option reviews etc.
- May have performed 'Owner Engineering Role' on behalf of Client
- Preparation of pipeline decommissioning documentation.
This role can be considered on a PAYE contract or staff basis.
