Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Site Manager to support operations on a high-paced, complex construction site in Delamere. This role will be critical in ensuring health and safety compliance, managing site documentation, coordinating induction processes, and assisting with permits, quality control, and broader site operations.
As part of an established and experienced site management team, you will provide hands-on support to help maintain momentum across the project. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset looking to grow within a fast-moving construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Compliance:
Support the implementation and monitoring of HSE policies and procedures, promoting best practices and addressing day-to-day compliance issues. - Health & Safety Documentation:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date safety records including RAMS, daily briefings, toolbox talks, and incident reports in line with company standards. - Site Inductions:
Deliver and coordinate effective induction training for all site personnel and visitors. Ensure records are maintained and procedures kept current. - Permit Reviews & Issuance:
Assist in the management and review of all permits to ensure that all relevant permits have been completed, approved, and are in place before works commence. - Quality Inspections & Test Plans (QITP):
Support the administration and execution of QITPs, liaising with subcontractors and the QA team to ensure documentation and sign-offs are completed. - Programme & Operational Support:
Support the management team in all aspects of the build process, providing hands-on assistance wherever required to help drive the programme forward. Be responsive and adaptable to the evolving needs of the project and the wider business. - Site Systems & Record Management:
Assist with the upkeep and use of site-based digital systems and logs, including environmental management tools (e.g., Smart Waste), site access/login systems, utility meter readings, and general record-keeping. Support the accurate capture and reporting of data to align with compliance and sustainability objectives.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a construction-based assistant management, HSE coordination, or site supervisor role
- Solid understanding of UK construction health and safety legislation and permit systems
- Confident delivering briefings, inductions, and toolbox talks to operatives and contractors
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience with QITP processes and basic quality control procedures (desirable)
- CSCS (Manager or Supervisor), SMSTS or SSSTS essential
- First Aid at Work
