Durham University International Study Centre (DUISC) launched in September 2017. You will be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching and assessment through a developmental approach, which for you will mean autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Delivering modules (online and face-to-face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules.
  • Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources.
  • Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students.
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre\\\’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same.
  • Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance.
  • Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students.
  • Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
  • Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC.
  • Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression.
  • Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject.

ABOUT YOU

  • A Bachelor\\\’s degree in a relevant subject (essential)
  • A recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
  • A Master\\\’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area (desirable)
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Teaching experience delivering Business programmes within a Sixth Form, Further Education or Higher Education context.
  • Experience of working with international students (Desirable)
  • A student-centred approach.
  • Confident practitioner online (e.g. use of Teams/Zoom) and face to face
  • Able to master a wide range of online teaching software.
  • Strong record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
  • Strong sense of teamwork.
