Durham University International Study Centre (DUISC) launched in September 2017. You will be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching and assessment through a developmental approach, which for you will mean autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Delivering modules (online and face-to-face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules.
- Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources.
- Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre\\\’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same.
- Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process.
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance.
- Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students.
- Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
- Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC.
- Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression.
- Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject.
ABOUT YOU
- A Bachelor\\\’s degree in a relevant subject (essential)
- A recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
- A Master\\\’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area (desirable)
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Teaching experience delivering Business programmes within a Sixth Form, Further Education or Higher Education context.
- Experience of working with international students (Desirable)
- A student-centred approach.
- Confident practitioner online (e.g. use of Teams/Zoom) and face to face
- Able to master a wide range of online teaching software.
- Strong record-keeping skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility.
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
