Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Anglian Alliance.

As part of Anglian Water\’s Alliance, we aim to create a sustainable and resilient future for water. With an ambitious GBP2.3 billion capital investment in AMP8, we are transforming infrastructure, sustainability, and digital innovation to protect the environment and support growing communities.

What will you be doing as our new Mechanical Engineer?

Working within a multi-disciplinary project team, you\’ll provide mechanical engineering expertise to develop and deliver water TOTEX solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of mechanical options, ensuring risks are mitigated and design basis is upheld.
  • Perform design calculations for mechanical, hydraulic, power, and building services equipment.
  • Liaise with the supply chain to assess and understand new technologies.
  • Collaborate with the design team on 3D models and solutions.
  • Oversee outputs like P&IDs, Data sheets, HAZID, HAZOP studies, and commissioning inputs.
  • Support health & safety standards, ensuring safe designs compliant with CDM Regulations.
  • Identify opportunities aligned with digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives.

Skills, experience, and behaviours:

You should hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive practical experience in mechanical design, hydraulic systems, and modular build processes. Knowledge of electrical control, instrumentation, and switchgear is also essential. You should be collaborative, accountable, safety-conscious, innovative, and able to work effectively within a team.
