Audit & Administrative Assistant

Location: Royal Hospital
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £12.31 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary

MPA Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading health trust to recruit an Audit & Administrative Assistant to join the Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to support a high-performing, patient-focused clinical service and contribute to vital audit and administrative processes that drive continuous care improvement.

The Role:

As the Audit & Administrative Assistant, you will provide key administrative support to the Information & Administration Manager, supporting the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) process. You’ll also contribute to the smooth running of the critical care unit by assisting with general secretarial, audit and data entry duties.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in daily data collection and patient information provision for ICNARC
  • Input data and retrieve information using hospital systems (e.g., EPIC, PAS)
  • Support long-term patient follow-up and liaise with internal departments
  • Prepare reports and collate statistical data
  • Type and format letters, statements and other correspondence for consultants and nursing staff
  • Schedule meetings, take minutes, and maintain diaries
  • Handle stock ordering via e-Procurement and manage bed booking processes
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and medical records (manual and electronic)
  • Respond to enquiries and provide cover across admin functions as needed

Essential Criteria:

  • 4 GCSEs (Grades A–C) including English and Maths, or equivalent
    • OR 2 years’ recent clerical/administrative experience
  • 1 year of current experience in a clerical/administrative role
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word
  • Ability to manage time, work within a team, and use initiative
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of hospital databases such as EPIC
  • Minute-taking experience and prior audit involvement
