Energy Efficiency Expert – Operations – Decarbonising Real Estate – London – Hybrid – £65k + Bonus
Location: London, UK (Hybrid working – 2-3 days in-office)
About the Company
Our client is at the forefront of the energy transition across commercial real estate, redefining how energy is delivered, optimised, and measured. They work with major organisations to implement scalable, smart, and internationally governed energy solutions – including Energy as a Service (EaaS) models, Energy efficiency renovation and Solar installation (roof, ground and shade) and battery storage integration.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a technically proficient and contract-savvy Energy Expert to manage and deliver energy services, contracts, and performance frameworks aligned with IPMVP (International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol). This is a critical role supporting EPCs (Energy Performance Contracts), compliance, training delivery, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Energy Contract Administration
- Manage the lifecycle of energy supply and performance contracts (EPC, ESCo models)
- Liaise with legal, finance, and suppliers to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met
- Support procurement and tender evaluations for energy service providers
EPC & IPMVP Compliance
- Administer and verify EPCs against savings guarantees
- Ensure Measurement & Verification plans meet IPMVP standards
- Conduct ongoing performance evaluations and adjust baselines as needed
Training, Licensing & Knowledge Transfer
- Deliver training sessions on energy performance, reporting, and compliance
- Maintain licensing and certification records in line with UK/EU and international standards
Energy as a Service (EaaS) Delivery
- Support the design and implementation of EaaS frameworks
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery and reporting
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing EPCs and energy contracts
- Strong knowledge of IPMVP and experience with M&V plan development
- Familiarity with EaaS models and working with providers such as E.ON, Mitie, Engie, or similar
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience
- Background in commercial property, FM, or the public sector
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Energy Engineering, Sustainability, Building Services, or related field
- 4/5 years' experience in a design office or energy efficiency consultancy
- Energy audit delivery experience
- CMVP or IPMVP certification highly desirable
- Knowledge of SECR, ESOS, and UK energy legislation
