Materials Information Lead/Manager

Summary
NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK\’s leading independent engineering and services business, are a part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.
As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new opportunity for a Materials Information Lead to support the Logistics and Material to Site Function by managing data and information, around weekly performance KPIs and the forecast against material status and availability.
This is a full-time permanent position that will be based at logistics sites around Bridgwater, parking will be available onsite. This role would be well suited to someone with a strong data analytics focus, ideally with good understanding of materials/logistics or engineering processes and terminology.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- In support of the Off-Site Materials Lead, attend coordination meetings that include procurement/expediting and construction planning for MEH lookaheads on Material installation.
- Understanding of, and reporting against the 4/8/16 Week Look Ahead (WLA) provided by the pre-construction team.
- In conjunction with the organisations other leads, analyse data from weekly reports for material request fulfilment and generating KPI reports to demonstrate the overall performance of Materials to Site (MTS) from all off-site locations.
- Feedback and reporting of material status\’ by discipline and category in storage across all locations.
- Support through visual aids and data input detailed information to support forecasted material data and logistics performance for MEH and NNB Tier 1 storage locations.
- Feedback and report to the Offsite Materials Lead on any potential improvements on process, HS&E and the reporting structure where shortfalls are identified along with other Area Leads within the MEH Materials Management teams.
- Assisting the Offsite Materials Lead, with day-to-day management of all off-site locations and processes.
- Carry a positive HS&E outlook, while representing and promoting a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the project.
What we\’re looking for:
- Advanced IT skills in the MS Office Suite and Data Analytics.
- Previous relevant qualifications (e.g Supply/Logistics, Engineering, Equipment Management, Procurement, Quality).
- Practical experience in one or more of Warehouse Management, Material/Equipment/Asset Management, Supply/Logistics, Procurement, Quality Management would be advantageous.
- Exposure to large scale, regulated projects would also be beneficial.
