We need passionate and experienced mental health nurse to work in a well-established team at an acute hospital in the South East England, to assist and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
Description:
As a staff nurse / preceptorship nurse, your responsibilities will be to;
- Uphold our core values of promoting openness, transparency and learning;
- Effectively running the shift and attending regular meetings to review and monitor patients\’ care plans;
- Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns;
- Ensuring the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitoring side effects;
- Accurately recording patient information and communicating with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs.
- Offer support and supervise the practice of junior staff and student Nurses in order to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment.
- Performing administrative duties. Involved in the screening, assessment and follow up support of patients.
- Provide care and support to patients and families and work effectively as part of the wider Multidisciplinary team.
Skills:
- Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role
- Child and Adult safe guarding procedures.
- Change management, organising and prioritising workloads
- Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge
- Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group
