Lead User Researcher (Contract – 6 Months)

Our banking client is looking for an experienced and proactive Lead User Researcher. This is a mid–senior level role for someone who thrives in a design-led environment and knows how to use research to shape meaningful, evidence-based decisions.
You’ll play a key role in embedding user-centred thinking across multiple initiatives, working closely with designers and senior stakeholders to influence both design and business outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and deliver end-to-end user research across multiple initiatives, balancing priorities efficiently.
- Plan, conduct and analyse usability testing (moderated and unmoderated), alongside a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Partner closely with designers and cross-functional teams to ensure research directly informs and shapes the design process.
- Clearly communicate insights and recommendations to influence business and design decisions.
- Champion and apply user research best practices across the organisation, ensuring decisions are underpinned by strong evidence.
- Confidently challenge assumptions and the status quo, embedding user-centred thinking in strategy and delivery.
- Engage in strategic conversations with business and design leadership to help shape direction and product outcomes.
- Operate independently from scoping through to delivery, with accountability for research quality, impact and outcomes.
