Group Technology Services plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. The division operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.
Your role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mainframe System Engineer to join our squad in the CORE Tribe. As part of a team of around 20 mainframe engineers, you will focus on the mainframe release process to ensure our products remain up-to-date on the platform.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of mainframe software, maintaining, upgrading, and patching them according to the provider\’s recommendations. After gaining experience with the process, you will be in a position to coordinate a complete upgrade of all products.
Additionally, you will perform watch duty and participate in some weekend activities, such as regular business resilience exercises like SWAP and RDR.
Your responsibilities
- Offer expertise to support and troubleshoot infrastructure issues when problems arise.
- Evaluate the compatibility and integration of proposed products/services to ensure a cohesive architecture across interdependent technologies.
- Ensure systems are properly operated, maintained, and that system evolutions are successfully implemented.
- Provide specialized system expertise in a specific technology, working largely autonomously on various projects and tasks.
- Act as an expert in a technology, offering 2nd and 3rd level support for specific products.
- Maintain effective relationships with external suppliers to ensure appropriate levels of support.
- Monitor the usage, capacity, and performance of IT systems.
- Ensure the installation and implementation of new equipment/software as needed.
- Complexity & Problem Solving: Handles standard situations across several known domains of expertise. Identifies opportunities to improve current procedures and processes within the domain.

- 5+ years of professional experience on a Mainframe environment
- Experience installing, maintaining, and administering z/OS
- Experience installing, maintaining, and administering mainframe third party products
- General mainframe troubleshooting and performance tuning
