As a Compliance and Audit Administrator (Physical Security Technician), you\’ll play a key role in ensuring Affinity Water complies with security regulations and meets the requirements of external stakeholders, including DEFRA and the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI). You\’ll support the team with data management, audits, reporting, and document control while helping ensure our physical assets and people remain protected.

Although this is predominantly an administrative role, it also offers opportunities to engage in site-based work, training delivery, and hands-on exercises. Full training will be provided, including support to obtain national security clearance.

What You\’ll Be Doing

  • Compile and manage data for senior management, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Produce audit reports and maintain up-to-date security documentation.
  • Liaise with external bodies (DWI and DEFRA) and manage information submissions.
  • Carry out on-site security audits and risk assessments.
  • Support the development and review of internal security policies and documentation.
  • Audit third-party maintenance contracts for compliance.
  • Assist in the delivery of physical security training and emergency exercises.
  • Provide input on security aspects of new infrastructure projects.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for security works.

What We\’re Looking For

  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across our supply region.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in compiling data, writing reports, and managing document libraries.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with an ability to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • An understanding of Health & Safety in an operational environment.

  • Salary £45,000 per annum
  • Hybrid role, with the expectations of a minimum two days a week in the office in Hatfield
