Are you passionate about making a real and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you have a strong foundation in therapeutic practice and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those in residential care? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Practitioner to join our residential care team supporting children and young people aged 8–18 who have experienced trauma, neglect, or disrupted attachments. Our homes provide safe, stable, and nurturing environments where healing and growth are at the heart of everything we do.

About Us

We are a forward-thinking organisation committed to trauma-informed care and therapeutic parenting. Our homes are not just places of safety—they are environments where children and young people are supported to thrive emotionally, socially, and educationally. We work closely with families, social workers, and educational professionals to ensure a truly holistic approach.

The Role

As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team providing therapeutic support and guidance to both young people and the staff who care for them. You will bring specialist knowledge of child development, trauma, and attachment theory into everyday practice, helping to embed a therapeutic approach throughout the home.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering direct therapeutic work with children and young people, including one-to-one sessions, group work, and creative therapeutic interventions
Supporting staff teams through reflective practice, consultation, and training to enhance their understanding of trauma and therapeutic care
Contributing to individual care planning, risk assessments, and therapeutic assessments
Monitoring and evaluating therapeutic outcomes, and ensuring that each young person’s emotional needs are understood and addressed
Collaborating with external professionals and agencies to ensure consistent, integrated support

About You

We’re looking for someone who is not only qualified and experienced, but also empathetic, grounded, and resilient. You will be working in emotionally demanding situations, and your ability to remain calm, reflective, and constructive is essential.

You will have:

A relevant degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field (a recognised therapeutic qualification is desirable)
Experience working with children and young people in care, ideally in a therapeutic or residential setting
An in-depth understanding of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, and child development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and strong relationships with children and colleagues
A flexible, team-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous learning and development

What We Offer

A supportive and inclusive working environment where your wellbeing is a priority
Regular clinical supervision and access to reflective practice
Ongoing training and development opportunities, including access to specialist therapeutic models
Opportunities for career progression within a growing and ambitious organisation
Enhanced holiday entitlement and staff benefits package

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a service that genuinely puts children at the centre of everything it does. If you are ready to make a difference—if you want your work to have purpose, meaning, and impact—then we encourage you to apply.
