💼Medical Receptionist – Join a Friendly, Professional GP Surgery in Banbury!
📍 Banbury | Up to £12.21 per hour | Part-Time | NHS Pension | 29 Hours per Week
Are you a warm, organised, and proactive individual looking to make a difference in a patient-facing role? An excellent well-established, forward-thinking GP surgery based in Banbury, are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join their supportive and friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare setting, where no two days are the same, and where your work truly matters.
🩺 Your Role
As the first point of contact for their patients, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and professional front-of-house experience. You’ll be responsible for:
- Greeting and checking in patients at reception
- Managing appointments and patient queries using EMIS Web (training provided)
- Answering phone calls and handling general enquiries in a courteous and helpful manner
- Processing prescriptions and administrative requests
- Assisting with post, filing, scanning, and supporting the wider admin team
- Preparing lab samples, giving authorised test results, and more
🧠 What You’ll Bring
- Previous reception, customer service or administrative experience (healthcare experience a bonus!)
- Confidence using Microsoft Word and Office (EMIS Web experience desirable)
- A warm, professional and calm manner – especially under pressure

⏰ Working Hours
- 29 hours per week
- Mon–Thu: 13:30–18:30
- Fri: 08:30–12:30 & 13:30–18:30
- Includes Monday evening cover (6:30–8pm) approx. once every 12 weeks
- Additional hours may be available to cover holidays or early mornings (from 7:30am)
