The role
SSE Thermal currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our Gas Storage business. This is a critical role ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems across our gas storage sites.
You will
– Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to maximise plant performance.
– Diagnose faults and carry out root cause analysis on critical equipment and systems.
– Support the development of maintenance schedules and implement project work.
– Supervise teams of staff and contractors, ensuring all work is performed safely and to high-quality standards.
– Accurately update all relevant systems and documentation in line with operational procedures.
You have
– ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with solid experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within the gas or related industry.
– Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as Maximo.
– Proven track record of working safely and contributing to a strong safety culture.
– Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
– Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites as needed.
