We’re looking forcoffee-fanatic Head Baristasto be part of our team for The Hoxton, Southwark.

The Hoxton, Southwark, the third Hoxton in our hometown of London. This London borough is known for its colourful history. Right here is where famous London pub The Prince Albert once stood. Patrons would bet on sport from their barstool, handing fistfuls of cash to the pub’s very own licensed bookie! We have 192 bedrooms, 2 restaurants- Albie & Seabird and our first Working From_ location not just in London but Europe! Albie is our all-day neighbourhood dining spot, drawing inspiration from the French and Italian Riviera. Seabird is our rooftop restaurant on the 14th floor, boasting an impressive raw bar, London’s longest oyster list and panoramic views of the city.

Albie: Albie is our all-day lobby spot where you can expect proper breakfasts and comfy seats, crowd pleasing modern dishes and a killer wine and cocktail list to see out the night.

Seabird: Enjoy panoramic views in the heart of Southwark. Featuring an array of sea-to-table offerings with Portuguese and Spanish influences.

Job Description

  • Lead the barista team in creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests come to start up their day and enjoy themselves
  • Be creative and share ideas to develop our hot & healthy drink – play part in innovating our café concept and staying on (and even ahead) of trends
  • Know your products and systems inside out
  • Be on top of cleanliness and organization, making sure the bars and coffee stations are in top visual and operational condition
  • Lead your team by example, driving service standards that strive for the best for the guests, reinforcing steps of service
  • Manage inventory, restocking, deliveries and coffee machine maintenance
  • Ensure health and safety compliance (allergens, hygiene, FiFO and expiry dates)
  • Support wider bar team during transitions from breakfast and lunch to dinner and cocktail service

Qualifications

  • Previous Head Barista / Café supervisor experience
  • Knowledge of coffee extraction, milk steaming and latte art
  • Knowledge of coffee machines, tools and equipment
  • Previous experience with orderings, inventory and storage management
  • A natural people person – you’re confident behind the bar and brilliant with guests
