The School and Role

Vision for Education work with thousands of primary, secondary and SEND schools and alternative provisions across the Doncaster area. The majority of the schools we work with are Ofsted rated ‘excellent’ and ‘good’. The role would involve a dedicated, passionate and determined individual who wants to progress into a teaching profession. The Nation Teaching Assistant Programme would secure you a paid 5-day placement within a SEND school. After completion of the placement and relevant free online training programmes you will be placed into the same or another relevant SEND school setting. The SEND schools that we work with coverage a range of SEN such as ASD, MLD, SLD, SEMH, EBD and ADHD.

Requirements
The desired teaching assistant for the National Teaching Assistant Programme, will have:

  • Compassion, understanding and caring manner.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Be passionate and driven about improving the outcomes for children and young people.
  • Be flexible, proactive and a team player.
  • Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe.
  • Be able to demonstrate at interview the reasons why you want to start a career in education and explain your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the important part they play in the school community.
