About This Opportunity

Cumberland Council is looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join our Children and Families Service. In this vital role, you’ll work directly with children, young people, and their families to assess needs, develop outcome-focused plans, and ensure the right support is in place. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-agency team, using your professional expertise to improve lives and promote the voice of the child in all aspects of care planning.

We’re looking for someone with a Social Work degree (or equivalent), Social Work England registration, and experience working with children and families. You’ll need strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and a commitment to anti-oppressive practice. This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is – Enhanced DBS Check with a Children’s Barred List check.

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
