Job Description

Beginning June 2024.

Term time only: 38 school weeks plus training days.

Support the Head of Year and Vice Principal with progress, behaviour and learning. Provide support, encouragement and pastoral care to students and work with parents, support staff, outreach agencies and other schools to ensure the safety and progress of individual students. Help implement safeguarding, behaviour and anti‑bullying policies and support students’ ability to self‑regulate their behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral support to students across the academy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to guard student welfare.
  • Support the implementation of school policies.
  • Help improve student progress and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office IT programmes.
  • A calm, patient and approachable manner.
  • Proactive and flexible approach.

Desirable Experience

Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.

Experience in Emotional Literacy Support (ELSA) would be an advantage but not essential.
