The Opportunity

Avantor is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Operative (GMP) to join our on-site team in Macclesfield, UK.In this role, you\’ll play a vital part in the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of pharmaceutical materials within a GMP-regulated, automated, white-glove warehouse environment.

This is a full-time, temporary (12 months FTC) position based at our Derwent Warehouse facility in Macclesfield. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes a bonus scheme, pension plan, private medical and dental care, and an extra day off on your birthday.

Working hours:Monday to Friday, 8:00am/9:00am – 4:00pm/5:00pm

The Team

You\’ll be part of a collaborative and quality-driven team supporting pharmaceutical operations. Working closely with scientists, warehouse colleagues, and quality professionals, you\’ll ensure timely and compliant delivery of materials critical to global research and development.

This role sits within Avantor\’s Laboratory and Production Services division, which supports the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries through expert logistics, compliance, and operational excellence.

What We\’re Looking For

  • IATA, ADR, or IMDG training (or willingness to work towards certification) is preferable
  • Experience in a GMP, white-glove automated warehouse/logistics, regulated environment (pharmaceutical industry preferred)
  • Familiarity with GMP and GDP principles
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety protocols and inventory systems
  • Experience working with SAP is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and IT systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

How You\’ll Thrive And Create An Impact

  • Receive inbound materials from contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs) and local partners
  • Ensure all materials are accurately recorded in inventory systems and fully traceable
  • Perform sampling of materials (e.g., extracting 5g from a 1kg batch) in accordance with GMP protocols
  • Dispense materials as required for downstream use or shipment
  • Record all data accurately and complete associated documentation to maintain compliance and traceability
