We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our team in Hemel Hempstead as a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead a team of warehouse shift managers, section leaders and operatives. As a Warehouse Operations Manager at Gist, you will be accountable for the delivery of our objectives across all shifts and changes. You will support the network, allowing Gist to excel in service and minimise cost risks. In this role, you will lead the warehouse functions of the distribution centre, ensuring that customer requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

Role Details
Salary: £48,000 to £53,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours Per Week
Working pattern: Nights| 5 Days from 7 (inc. 1 weekend in 3)
Location: Gist Limited, Hemel Foods, HP2 7PZ
What You’ll Do
- Support shift managers with counselling, coaching and the development of all employees.
- Ensuring effective communication within the warehouse teams through meetings, briefings, shift managers, DLCs
- Driving positive change and engaging culture, bringing to life the Gist values
- Accountable for Operational excellence i.e. cost and service delivery including Peak planning/delivery
- Be responsible for overall productivity within the operation, ensure that activities are cost effective and manage levels of manpower and other resources.
- Plan and co-ordinate detailed operational activities through shift managers, to ensure the required level of service is provided to the customer.
- Customer service management including escalation to store
- Accountable for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI\’s.
- Accountability for delivering the warehouse budget
- Ownership of continuous improvement initiatives and controllable costs
Who You Are
- Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of a warehouse function within the FMCG Distribution Industry.
- A background operating at a managerial level is a must.
- A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas.
- Excellent team management and customer relationship skills.
- An analytical mind-set.
- Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future.
- Previous experience working with Trade Unions
