Wood is recruiting for an experienced Overhead Lines Project Manager preferably with extensive experience in managing and delivering 132/275/400kV OHL Projects to join Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity focusing on overseeing project management and delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness.
This role is site based primarily in the Scottish central belt region with long term project sites based in Argyll and Bute supporting our client SSE. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across the UK.
You will have substantial experience of working within multi-million-pound projects to deliver safely, on-time and within budget. Experience of working on Transmission & Distribution Network Operators\’ projects is key. You will be expected to visit site walks for tenders when required, and work from home and your nearest Wood office to suit business needs.

Are you an established Overhead Lines (OHL) project manager seeking a new challenge? Join us at the forefront of delivering critical electrical infrastructure. As an existing OHL Project Manager preferably, you will be joining our ever-growing business. You will ideally be from a construction/ electricity supply industry background, ideally with experience in tendering and delivering large 132/275/400kV OHL projects as you will be initially supporting our client SSE with projects in the Scottish central belt region.
Reporting to the Senior OHL Project Manager, you willoversee project management and delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness. Your role will involve upholding high standards in project execution, aligning with both T&D and client objectives.You will ideally possess a strong history of leading project teams on OHL projects through all phases of design, construction, commission and close out. Essential skills include programme / project management, planning and expertise in managing the design requirements and commercial budgets for OHL projects is preferable. Familiarity with client/ distribution network operator (DNO) technical standards and policies is also preferable.

Expected:
- Engineering qualification (Degree / HND / HNC) or equivalent industry track record
- Recognised SHE qualification (., IOSH, NEBOSH)
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Ability to lead and build project teams, and proactively resolve site issues
- Willingness to work away from home regularly and for prolonged periods
- Experience with SSE, SPEN or NGED and other Distribution Network Operators, including leading and managing OHL project teams through all phases is preferable
- Knowledge of Local Authority permit requirements and NEC Forms of Contract
- Experience managing design requirements for OHL projects, including commercial budgets, and developing good working relationships with clients and sub-contractors is preferable
- Understanding of engineering principles, CDM, and client technical standards, policies, procedures, and safety rules
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of OHL installation techniques, street works, permit submission, and council liaison
- Financial and commercial understanding
- Full UK driving licence
