Job Purpose
Design flexible pipe solutions for subsea applications, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules and budget, with a continuous focus on quality, targets and customer satisfaction. Projects are varied geographically and range from concept design through to detailed engineering and life extension.
Job Description
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Critical analysis of project documentation, ensuring that all required inputs are available and clarified;
- Perform flexible pipe structure design in accordance with specification, design rules and manufacturing constraints;
- Perform configuration design using both industry standard software and in-house software;
- Perform thorough checks of own work before submitting for review;
- Liaise with Centers of Expertise on technical issues not covered by standard design rules;
- Attend client meetings and make effective presentations regarding the work performed;
- Engage with project teams to ensure successful product design and delivery;
- Prepare calculation reports, manufacturing specifications, and contractual deliverables;
- Check work performed by other engineers;
- Escalate risks to project stakeholders promptly;
- Evaluate practices and promote improvements through lessons learned and innovations;
- Act as Project Lead, supporting project resources and ensuring delivery within standards, deadlines, and budget;
- Guide the team regarding project objectives;
- Define and control engineering activities schedule, aligned with milestones;
- Estimate and track project engineering budget;
- Ensure internal check processes are followed;
- Organize design reviews;
- Coordinate with Discipline Leads and Project Management Teams;
- Deliver project close-out.

You are meant for this job if:
FORMAL EDUCATION
Engineering Degree (B.E/B.Tech/M. Tech or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Structures, Aerodynamics, Civil, Materials, or relevant experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 1 to 3 years as a design engineer;
- Strong technical foundation in engineering;
- Experience leading design scopes is an advantage;
- Customer-oriented mindset;
- Proficiency in English.
EXPERTISE
Technical skills: Design Engineering, Physics, Mechanics; Nice to have: FEA, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering analysis, Flexible Pipe, Dynamic analysis; Specific skills: Interpersonal, Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Pro-active; Computer skills: MS Office, OrcaflexTM or similar, automation tools (VBA, Python, Matlab); Language: Fluent English.
