Due to significant growth across our Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK business, we\βre looking to build an expressions of interest talent pool for both new and experienced EHV Cables Construction Manager resource to support our growing workload across underground cables (UGC). This opportunity is a site-based position, we have works issued under various frameworks supporting various clients which means the position is UK wide. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across the UK.
The Role
Supporting the project manager, you will supervise and deliver key packages of cabling construction projects. You will assist in the production of construction plans and coordinate the engineering support team. You will also be responsible for the procurement of construction materials and specialist subcontracts for the successful delivery of projects. You will have substantial experience of managing sites and field-based staff on cable or substation projects and underground cabling works. Technical expertise of the civil, cable and/or electrical aspects of cabling projects is key. Experience in cable installation and associated activities i.e., jointing and testing requirements is essential as is previous working knowledge of distribution network operators.
