Manager of Outsourced Partnerships

Location: Any Direct Line Group Location – Hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office

Contract: Fixed Term Contract – Up to 12 months

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Head of Outsourced Partnerships, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of designated suppliers within the Green Flag Patrol Network. Your role includes managing supplier performance, developing relationships, sourcing new suppliers, and negotiating commercials alongside procurement.

  1. Manage the performance of designated suppliers and oversee contractual KPIs and customer outcomes.
  2. Identify, onboard, and perform due diligence on new suppliers, engaging P&SC as needed.
  3. Complete RCA, interrogate data, and work with data science to improve dashboards.
  4. Support the removal of underperforming suppliers following governance procedures.
  5. Hold performance reviews with external suppliers (15–30 suppliers).
  6. Manage commercial spend, income, and revenue performance with support from P&SC.
  7. Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  8. Own the risk framework, ensure compliance with competition law, and address breaches.
  9. Communicate proactively with service providers and colleagues to manage expectations and resolve issues.
  10. Handle conflicts at senior levels, demonstrating emotional resilience and adaptable communication.
  11. Conduct supplier audits in line with DLG’s risk framework.
  12. Support out-of-hours issues on an on-call basis.
  13. Manage complaints timely and escalate trends to the business leadership.
  14. Coordinate with Patrols, Health & Safety, and the Green Flag Network to ensure best practices.
  15. Develop and execute strategies for SURGE events to meet customer, brand, and business needs.
  16. Maximize roadside revenue opportunities and identify new revenue streams.

What you\’ll need

  • Experience in Supplier & Relationship Management, with proven ability to manage external suppliers and conduct performance reviews.
  • Experience managing budgets, commercial spend, and revenue within a supplier network.
  • Ability to manage escalations, resolve conflicts, and make balanced decisions.
  • Experience sourcing and onboarding suppliers, negotiating contracts with procurement.
  • Automotive industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong self-management skills, independence, and effective teamwork.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders effectively.
