Billing Assistant – Legal Finance Team
Edinburgh City Centre (Hybrid)
£26,000-£32,000

We’re working with a highly regarded law firm in Edinburgh that is looking to appoint aBilling Assistantto join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with legal billing or professional services finance experience to take on a busy, varied role within a collaborative business support environment.

You\’ll support the finance and billing function by helping ensure client matters are billed promptly, accurately, and in line with internal procedures. You’ll be part of a professional and friendly team that plays a key role in managing the firm’s revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the end-to-end billing process, including drafting and editing bills
  • Liaising with fee earners and support staff to ensure billing is completed on schedule
  • Processing write-offs, time transfers, and disbursement checks
  • Monitoring the billing inbox and responding to internal queries
  • Working with wider finance and credit control teams to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks and month-end processes
  • What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a billing or finance assistant role within alaw firm or professional servicesenvironment
  • Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with billing software and financial systems (e.g. Aderant, Elite, or similar)
  • Good communication skills and confidence liaising with staff at all levels
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing a high-volume workload
