Must have Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent
Roles available in 5 homes across Leeds – LS14, LS15, LS27, LS10, LS17
Positions include Deputy Manager, Senior Residential Practitioner, and Registered Manager
The Residential Practitioner supports, encourages, and safeguards children and young people, fostering positive relationships and maintaining strong bonds based on shared routines and boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Undertake key worker role, implement care plans, conduct risk assessments, and devise support and health plans
- Provide a safe, stimulating, and secure environment supporting physical and emotional needs
- Work with professionals and communities to maintain links and understand past issues
- Nurture children\’s ambitions and support their learning both in and out of school
- Support emotional, mental, and physical health needs to build self-esteem
- Respect privacy while ensuring safety and cleanliness
- Provide personal care for children with disabilities and complex needs
- Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant records
- Manage challenging behavior assertively and sensitively
- Work to prevent criminalization, encouraging restorative approaches
- Work on a rota basis, including sleep-ins, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Maintain relationships with colleagues, external agencies, and families
- Be flexible and adaptable, participating in training and development
- Contribute to team ethos and attend meetings and events
- Comply with policies on child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection
- Support diversity, promote equality, and challenge discrimination
- Work within the council\’s flexibility protocol
