Job Vacancy: Camera Operator Editor – Sky News
Location: Birmingham, UK
What you’ll do:
- Acquire and deliver media to Sky News using various equipment depending on the story\’s needs, potentially independently.
- Operate cameras and lighting confidently, using the latest HD cameras for ENG, EFP, and long-form/documentary content, including Panasonic GH7s.
- Use non-linear editing systems proficiently, understanding the in-house workflow from acquisition to contribution, primarily using Adobe Premiere.
- Utilize IP technologies (LiveU, Starlink, IP dishes) to deliver live and recorded content from the field.
- Collaborate with Sky News correspondents, field producers, and fellow camera operators/editors to gather, manage, and deliver high-quality content across all Sky News platforms.
- Manage your own ENG camera, sound equipment, and personal broadcasting gear, including using company pool or hired vehicles when necessary.
